Colder weather is upon us again (*sigh*), although we had a temporary reprieve here in Chicago the last couple of days. Seems like our short-lived Indian Summer is over and we’re headed back into chillier temps this weekend. We reached a high of 76 degrees the other day, but the forecast for this weekend predicts a high of 49 degrees on Saturday and 48 degrees on Sunday. An almost thirty degree drop in a matter of days – although I shouldn’t be surprised. I’ve lived in Chicago all my life, and drastic weather shifts are pretty much the norm around here.
Personally, I think I should’ve been born somewhere tropical. Cold weather has been my enemy for as long as I can remember. I’m one of those people who would much rather suffer through a heat wave with no air conditioner than spend any unnecessary time outdoors in the winter. Think I’m joking? The thermostat in my office at work is set to 80 degrees year-round. Yeah, I’m pretty hardcore.
Aside from the discomfort cold weather always brings, one thing that really aggravates me is my skin. I, unfortunately, have been born with extremely sensitive skin that gets really, really dry in the winter months. My skin, especially the skin on my legs gets red, cracked and very itchy the colder it gets outside. And, don’t get me wrong, I moisturize all the time – sometimes applying lotion to my legs 3-4 times a day! But regular lotions, even ones claiming to be designed for “extra dry” skin, have never worked for me.
Lately I’ve found that the Curél Intensive Healing Cream helps my skin stay moisturized throughout the day. It’s a very thick cream (which, initially, I was nervous about) but it absorbs into the skin quickly without feeling greasy. I don’t have to keep reapplying all day either so I love that.
Some other benefits of Curél Intensive Healing Cream:
-
Clinically proven to ease chapping and chaffing caused by dryness.
- Gentle, rich, occlusive formula gets to work immediately on the driest skin.
- Daily application replenishes moisture levels for long-lasting relief and hydration.
- Dermatologist recommended.
- Hypo-allergenic, fragrance free, and appropriate for atopic skin. (Like mine!)
So, if you suffer from dry, winter skin like I do, try the New Curél Intensive Healing Cream – you’ll be so glad you did!
