I’m sure everyone’s looking forward to the 4th of July like I am. For starters, it falls in the middle of the week so I’m thinking that’s going to come in handy for very long weekends for some of you. I, for one, love celebrating the 4th of July – let’s not forget that the holiday, Independence Day, marks the day our Declaration of Independence was signed in 1776 – but nowadays, we look forward to spending the day with our family and friends, BBQing, and watching colorful fireworks. It’s such an awesome and relaxing day to spend in the summertime.
This year, I scoured the internet to find the best 4th of July recipes and decorations to help you prepare for the big day. And, because I love a DIY project, these 4th of July DIY ideas will make your party the best on the block!
RECIPES
No 4th of July celebration would be complete without great food. These recipes are perfect for a patriotic celebration.
I found a fun drink on Baby Center that the whole family can enjoy…a red, white and blue mocktail!
Living Locurto posted a fun marshmallow idea for the 4th – and it’s easy to make too!
And did someone say pretzel sticks?!?! Pretzels covered in just about anything are one of my favorite treats. Cupcakes and Cashmere posts a beautiful, edible centerpiece idea.
Lastly, a party just isn’t a party without yummy desserts. This one is sure to get you singing America the Beautiful. (Or at least will make your taste buds sing for sure!) SnackPicks shares what might be the easiest recipe for a fun Independence-themed pie.
DECORATIONS
Naptime Crafts created my favorite patriotic wreath (and I just LOVE creating wreaths for all occasions).
I absolutely adore these red, white, and blue lanterns from Four Flights of Fancy. I just know they’ll look great on my driveway!
I’m also a wannabe scrapper (scrappbooker, whatever) so I can really appreciate this design from Just Me and My Little World. A perfect way to commemorate how you spent the day with your family.
Finally, this one isn’t much of a “decoration” (or, it’s a human decoration at least) but, if ever I have another little girl – or at the very least, if my expectant best friend has a baby girl – I am SOOOO making this! No pattern, no tutorial, but I’ll figure it out!
Have a great 4th of July holiday, all!

I can’t wait to make those too…chocolate & pretzels are the perfect combo. The sprinkles just give it “pizazz”!
