I love hanging out with my son outside enjoying the beautiful weather we’ve been having in the Chicago area lately. We take walks, hang out at the park, sit on our front porch, hang out in the pool, and we’ve even been to the zoo already this year! I love watching him laugh and have fun – and he loves being outside! (I’m sure that has a whole lot to do with the fact that we pretty much hibernate in the winter!)
What I don’t love, however, is how the harsh sun effects by poor little pale baby boy. My son’s skin is so fair that I have to lather on the sunscreen even for a short walk around the block. I should probably also mention that my boy has an above-average-sized cranium! LOL. I laugh, but it’s so true. According to his doctor, his head circumference is off the charts – like 100th percentile off the charts! I comfort myself by saying that he needs such a big head to hold the giant brain he has…but that still doesn’t take away from the fact that he could almost pass for a bobble-head. (Kidding!…Kinda.)
Aside from the near-half bottle of sunscreen I apply, I’ve found that hats are also a great way to combat the sun’s harsh rays. He recently outgrew his little baseball cap, but I’ve been digging the fisherman’s hat look from Kids Organic for him this summer. Isn’t this one just too cute?
